Verizon and ATT cell plans

I have changed cell phone plans to get the service that I need while I travel. My new plan with ATT has 20 Gig of data and can be used for tethering. It costs around $140/mon with 2 phones. I am out of contract so I can move anytime.

They have an unlimited plan for $150 but no tethering.

What plans do you have, and how much do they cost, with ATT or Verizon that include tethering and 15 to 20 Gig of data? Is there any way to get a better rate?

They change plans so often and many are unpublished so you must spend an hour on the phone to find any plan that will suit your needs and be a better cost.

Thanks

  • keep what you have unless you are spending more time where is does not have access

after addons and taxes, you will not get one any cheaper on verizon

i have verizon, and im happy, i spend about $130 per month
550 minutes a small texting plan, unlimted data
    not available any more
im grand fathered and im NOT budging

your best choice price and feature wise
is probably to keep what you have, don't change
although, if you call customer service and tell them you are thinking about changing because verizon has the coverage you need (a fiction)
they might sweeten the pot, to keep a loyal customer
just be careful, you don't negotiate yourself out of your 20gig plan
  • Verizon Plans

18 GB will cost you $100/month, plus you will have $20/phone "access" fee. Data is shared between the phones, and tethering works fine.

Of course that $140 will have taxes/fees on top of it, and you will have to buy Verizon phones.
  • Cost between the two is going to be very closr. The difference is in service area. There are many places we go where the only choice is Verizon if you want to make a phone call.
  • We use Verizon, two phones, 10 gigs of data, unlimited text/voice, no charge for mobile hot spot. $98 a month. You are right, these plans change faster than anyone can keep up with.
