Our c ord on the coach like every other one is fifty foot 50 amp. Rarely see it get hot as we usually are parked within a few fee of the pedestal. that sections has gotten warm from the sun and temp. If we have only 30 amp service the adapter cord does get warm often. Our unit can run both air conditioners, most of the time, on a thirty amp circuit and that load makes for a hot adapter I'm sure. The load center tends to the management and may shut off one unit. We have a heavy 50 ft 30 amp extension cord and it gets warm just like the short adapter cord. The plug on the fifty where the 30 amp plugs onto gets warm too. We've found a few/several pedestals that were gody or corroded and the breakers many times trip especially when it is hot and there are several Campers. Someimtes we restrict hat we use depending on the voltage showing on our little meter to stave off these problems. We really need an Autoformer, when we next hit the road. I suspect it will cause the plug at the pedestal to heat up too. This got me to thinking of perhaps getting a piece of four inch pvc pipe and using half to cover the cord under the coach to the pedestal.
