{snip} - There was no weight distribution hitch set up (no yokes on the A frame)
- There was a Friction sway control connected to the A frame ..... in my opinion this is not enough in this case....am I correct here?
An experience I had in my V8 4Runner Limited when towing a utility trailer loaded with concrete and no WDH...
Got a trailer bounce, which lightened the front wheels, triggering the ABS, then NO BRAKES for a moment (no tire stoppage, pulsing junk), which was enough to send me to the oncoming lane, start a sway/jacknife situation, which I was fortunate enough to correct.
In that split second, it felt and acted like someone disconnected the drivetrain and brake system from the wheels.
Towing heavy? Use a WDH now ;) (ALWAYS on our camper)
I'm speculating that with that little initial sway, he got some tongue bounce, too, perhaps causing a similar or the same effect.
He also just came from the underpass and accompanying bank into the open, so wind might have been the buffet trigger.
