I agree completely with your assessment of the drivers on the road today. I do not see an immediate answer to it. Drive defensively as possible. I also stay in the right lane but that has its shortcomings too. People driving on the "on ramps" seem to think they have the right away. If I can't get over to let them on they simply challenge you. It seems that a lot of interstate drivers consider the RV driver their natural enemy. Back and secondary roads are actually more dangerous due to stop sign ignore'rs, and (head on) over the center line drivers.
