Not sure what backroads you mean, probably US and state routes? Although they can be nice rides they are far more dangerous than the interstate limited access highways. There is almost never a head on collision on an interstate but cars coming at me doing 55 or 60 mph and passing with just lines on the road for protection worries me more than the infractions I see on the interstates.
Be very careful driving the Interstate down around Phoenix AZ.
Wrong way drivers on the I-10, I-17, the Loops etc regularly----head on crashes, killing, maiming
Growing up, learning to drive I had an AM dial radio and an 8 track for distraction and 4 other vehicles on the same road
NOW........GPS Screens, Cd players, Cell phones, Texting, Blue tooth, On Star, DVD players, On the Fly tuners and 9000 other idiots all doing the same thing.
My first two cars also had a clutch and a floor shiftier!!
To the poster that got the Dash Cam, make sure you get a big micro SD card, I started with an 8GB, only good for 90 minutes, I now have a 32GB good for 6 hours, lost what would have been a great clip of some idiot almost putting his Mercedes in a ditch!!
