Some of the wide open states which are the most pleasant to drive RV have high fatality rates. As much as I dislike driving through congested CA areas in the RV it doesn't appear especially dangerous from a fatality standpoint. One area which does do well in the statistics is Utah. I always thought the drivers were relatively courteous and sane..with lots of enjoyable to drive wide open country.
