Virus while camping

Some of us gave up camping this summer because of THE VIRUS while others kept their schedule. It would be mildly interesting to know which of us RVers got sick while camping and which of us got sick staying at home. Emphasis on the `mildly'.
If you didn't get sick, like us, good for you but that is not part of the survey.
  • Mockturtle: Same as anywhere else when you are in the public. If you interact with unmasked campers, or campground employees, there is a significant risk involved.

Unfortunately, you will never know the correct choice. Just accept your choice. Best not to second guess.
  • We have been camping about 2 weeks per month lately and have not gotten sick.
Wife is making me somewhat nervous due to her relentless desire to shop the town's close to where we've been camping.

She keeps saying she's 0-type blood and can't get it. Lol idk

My uncle 78, aunt 75 and brother 56 all tested positive and experienced mild symptoms.

Leaving again in 2 weeks to spend yet another week in a remotely located state park.....ahhh no towns close by to shop.
  • We too have camped several times since this started and have not gotten sick. We've basically stayed to ourselves, but we always have, with occasional conversation with other campers.
  • Was to busy to camp until late this year. At the campground now and take the same precautions I would take at home. At home and the area where the campground is located have very few cases.
  • We got one camping trip in during the virus apocalypse, mostly because of work. Then the parks all shut down by state order. Camping is great social distancing time for us. Next trip is in October with friends.
  • I've camped at least three times since March. Perhaps even easier to maintain precautions then being at home. Haven't gotten sick either at home or while camping.

I wish there was a poll capability on this website, because it would be interesting to see total number of people who have camped between Mar and July (for example), and how many (if any) contracted the virus.

  • Close talkers were annoying to me before Covid 19 now its just unacceptable. I can hear just fine from 6 ft away.

Got sick early Feb while on an infamous Cruise! Thought it was a recurrence of previous bout with Valley Fever...it wasnt! Tested Covid19 positive in late Feb and I was symptomatic but not quite hospitalized.

Tested negative in early March and come 9/1 it will mark my 7th Convalescent Plasma donation while still positive with antibodies.

The motor home has not left the driveway since Jan but I'm getting the itch....normally I'd have been traveling for a couple months by now.

    Thats too bad, sorry.
