Virus while camping

Some of us gave up camping this summer because of THE VIRUS while others kept their schedule. It would be mildly interesting to know which of us RVers got sick while camping and which of us got sick staying at home. Emphasis on the `mildly'.
If you didn't get sick, like us, good for you but that is not part of the survey.

Please read the first post and stick to the topic as requested by the OP.

    Thanks.
  • I am back to traveling for work, and we never stopped camping. As a matter of fact, I think the vast majority of America has seemed to taken up camping, as the areas we go to that are never busy this time of year are all packed now.

I'm ready for everyone else to get back to their normal vacations.......

And to answer your question, I got pretty sick back in February. Tested negative for flu. But have also tested negative for the Covid antibodies, although I am not sure how long they would stay in your system. I have been healthy (thankfully so) since then.
  • Got sick early Feb while on an infamous Cruise! Thought it was a recurrence of previous bout with Valley Fever...it wasnt! Tested Covid19 positive in late Feb and I was symptomatic but not quite hospitalized.

Tested negative in early March and come 9/1 it will mark my 7th Convalescent Plasma donation while still positive with antibodies.

The motor home has not left the driveway since Jan but I'm getting the itch....normally I'd have been traveling for a couple months by now.
  • Our best camping pals went out for the July 4 weekend and both got it. She's a few years younger and has been back to work for a few weeks. He's still sick and has been off work for over six weeks.

They also got their daughter sick when they got home. She's in her mid-20s and she bounced back pretty quickly and is fine now.
  • I WAS SICK IN Jan-Feb,, missed 2 weeks of work the first bout, never got over it, missed another week and a half the second bout ( about 2 weeks after the 1st.)

tested negative for flu and strep as well.... Dr. called it upper Respiratory infection and called it a day... Steroids, antibiotics, chest xray,

Did I have it?? nobody will ever know... My wife says NO, and we all know how often wives are wrong ! ! :W
  • We all got sick in December and January. Tested neg for flu and strep, but we were all SICK! We stayed at home in March and April, but began camping again in May. We have camped in Tennessee and Virginia throughout the summer. None of us have gotten sick, but we CAMP! We don't use the camper just as a hotel. We cook most of our food at the campground, we use the amenities, but try to keep our distance from others. We have hosted in a state park for the last month and are having a great time, but again, we don't go into others' campers, we stick pretty much here. We do grocery pickup and we wear masks, as do most others in our area.

I got sick back around Christmas, not traveling.
