I cannot help with the visitors, but might be able to with the toilet valve problem. We had the same stuck valve issue. I removed the toilet and determined the push flush valve was traveling too far probably because of too much force used when flushing. I put a piece of firm rubbery type foam under the pedal which prevents over extension of the pedal. Contacting the foam gives a feedback to the user that the pedal is open far enough. Solved our problem.
Had to print this one .... might have been our problem when we stepped on the pedal too hard ... will pass this on to Hubby as now have 5 & 9 yr old grandsons come over occasionally. Best lead them to the public toilets for sure.
Oh, and forgot to add ... when the water pressure goes to almost nil, then our toilet runs and runs and runs and runs ... so keep the pump turned off when notice water pressure going down (usually occurs when rv parks/campgrounds are maxed out on sites/coverage) ... sometimes we even turn off the water when leaving for the day and/or remove the white water hose altogether ..
