  • Yep, Oregon State Parks are waaay ahead of my home state of Washington's. They do more about recycling and you do not have to plug quarters in for short showers. Take as long a shower as you want the ranger told us at one along the Oregon coast. Not that Washington's are scenic; we have some beautiful locations.
  • It's here: 47.095465,-119.839588

I camped there last year, in August IIRC, and saw a junky trailer occupied by a couple who appeared to be squatters. When I went back a couple weeks later, it was closed. Walk-in only.

So, according to WA fish and game, it's closed July 1st, from now on. They said the couple I saw was not the first time they'd had problems with people trying to live there.

Oh, and Soap Lake closed the donation dump station. I'll have to find out IF and when it's open again.

It's clouding up here on the east side.

One of my favorite spots is Martha Lake, but they close it July 1st due to squatters.

Is that in the Quincy Lakes complex?

    If so:

I thought that whole area was WDFW, not State Parks. I usually hit it at least once a year but didn't camp there last year at all- did they really close it in July???

    Just come to Oregon!

No kidding- the Oregon State Parks system puts Washington's to shame. Just goes to show what a difference a committed citizenry can make!
  • We're heading to Lincoln Rock and Steamboat Rock State Parks next week (before reservations are available), I was just trying to verify my passwords on a Keeper program.

The nice weather in W WA the last few days makes us want to continue it, so we're heading east.
  • With the sudden good weather I guess everyone's trying to go somewhere.. but, it's a bit late for this weekend.
