your correct. Our son works for Oregon state parks and recreation. they fund parks from park revenue and other sources, but no tax dollars. And they are trying to add new parks every year.
Parks and Rec does recieve some state tax dollars, but not for the parks. And some of the projects they fund have funds from things like the federal Recreation Trails program, user fees for off road vehicles, etc. etc.
