If some legislator's secretary couldn't pay their bills because their boss was holding up funding due to some stupid personal crusade, you can bet they would make that legislator's life uncomfortable at best.Cummins12V98 wrote:
Typical game they play to raise taxes.
And just like we say a few years back with the NP's, it's a stupid publicity stunt that accomplishes nothing. Remember, they were closing parks that had no park rangers, and sending a park ranger to be stationed there and make sure you couldn't get it in. If a budget crisis exists, I advocate for closing the departments that handle refilling the EBT cards. That'll never happen...
When the Feds shut down the National Parks, the only employees that were upset were the ones who were designated as essential. They had to work, while the unessential employees got the equivalent of vacation time. They all KNEW the next budget agreement would include back pay for everybody.
Now all the people who were shut out of the parks, had their vacation plans ruined and all of the private sector employees who rely on the parks for customers, they were all SOL. If we could move all the government employees to that same SOL list, I bet the budgetary process would go much more smoothly.
