You're suggesting that lowly staff members of legislatures should have to bear the burden of a partisan dispute in which they themselves have no control over...while not actually dealing with the problem? Yeah, cut their pay and they won't even come to work, let alone make anybody's life uncomfortable. As a "western rv park owner", is that how you would address the situation...just quit paying your employees because there's disagreement on the nightly rate structure? And you can't just stop paying the legislatures, because they've already gotten rich from their position and they understand it would just be temporary.
Government inadequacy is nothing new, it just comes in different forms.
