I will only say this: Wal-Mart corproate policy is very RV friendly, HOWEVER in many cases there are local (State, county or city/township/village) laws that prohibit parking an RV anywhere other than your own property or a properly licensed campground. THESE RULES ARE NOT WAL-MART'S FAULT. In fact if you want someone to blame.. The local Campground Owner's Assn.
Some communities are so restrictive you can't even sleep in your car. (Though there is a different illogic behind that one).
Just because you want to park your rv or sleep in your car wherever you want, doesn't mean the residents who live on that street want you camped there. There are no shortages of free and low cost camping spots. There are national parks, state parks, city parks, county parks, National forest sites, Corp or engineers parks, private parks that honor passport America and private parks that are just plain cheap. There is really no need to add the street in front of my house or business to that list. Businesses are licensed for a reason. If campgrounds need to be licensed in a particular area, then maybe businesses that want to function like campgrounds should get a license and become one. Kind of like if you want to sell food and beverages to people, you need to get a restaurant license. You want to sell beer, wine and liquor by the drink, you need to get a tavern license. You want to sell cars, you need a automobile dealer's license. Want to practice medicine, get a medical license. If it is such a big deal to Walmart, I am sure they could afford a campground license.
