Wal Mart- near Evansville Indianna

Please- no debates- but I'm thinking of Wally-Docking at a very specific location (see footnote below).

The request is simple:

"Yes I've done it, great place"

or

"Nope, not allowed" or "Nope, not a good place"

Yes, late arrival, sleep only, check with mgr, support the store...

I will only say this: Wal-Mart corproate policy is very RV friendly, HOWEVER in many cases there are local (State, county or city/township/village) laws that prohibit parking an RV anywhere other than your own property or a properly licensed campground. THESE RULES ARE NOT WAL-MART'S FAULT. In fact if you want someone to blame.. The local Campground Owner's Assn.

Some communities are so restrictive you can't even sleep in your car. (Though there is a different illogic behind that one).
  • RVparky.com (they also a have a great app available) has lots of great info and keeps track of which Walmarts allow overnight parking. It appears many of the Walmarts in that area are OK with it. As stated above, nothing trumps calling the store directly. Happy camping!!!

Sorry for not following your forum rules for reply's, BUT a parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot. What's to review about a parking lot?

If you are talking about 'location', I wouldn't stop let alone stay overnight in any parking lot in Evansville.
  • Besides, you are not "camping", only over nighting(I would hope).

Look the store up on the internet, telephone them and ask the manager

X2 I always call ahead. That way I get no surprises.
That said, There are 4 stores in the area. One of them does not allow overnite parking.
Which store are you wanting to use?
  • He simply might be advising you to not rely completely on what someone says, and to doublecheck with the store before assuming what someone posted is necessarily so at the time you're going to be there.

Seems to be sound advice to me.

I'm looking for someone who might have camped there...I'd bet he hasn't.
