Sometimes you just can't win. If the cops decide they're gonna give you a ticket -- well, son, you're gonna get a ticket. Regardless of if you're doing 10 miles UNDER the speed limit or not. They WILL find a way.
If you've never had the opportunity to have a run-in with a crooked cop good on you. But ONE experience with a bad cop will sour you on EVER thinking they're looking out for your "own good" forever.
To me, they are The Enemy. That's why I have a radar detector and NO tickets for the past 7 years. The radar detector warns me of The Enemy.
You must be a very unhappy and angry person… not a life I would choose to emulate…
The enemy, good grief…
There are bad people in all walks of life, all professions, all economic levels… dealing with them is a part of life, and as with all things some have poorer skills in dealing with than others…
Your post is outside the area of strict enforcement or even overly strict enforcement… I suspect it is more likely that you just don’t like any authority, or any organization, rules, or regulations and except for the ones you agree with…
If you’re getting tickets when going 10 under I will assume your attitude toward any supervision precedes you and is well known by those bad establishment cops…
I can say in my entire life I deserved to be stopped every time I was… I pushed the envelope got caught and knew the cost of doing so… still I was a slow learner, but I did learn… it wasn’t the tickets that woke me up though it was extricating people from the crumpled mess of what was once a car that experienced an extremely sudden stop while speeding…
Actually, I'm a bright & cheerful person -- always making my friends laugh. I lead a pretty stress less life, sleep well at night, don't worry about much of anything. And I'd like to keep it that way. Hence -- the radar detector. It's helped so far!
You write a post and try to paint a picture that places blame to the LEO’s, but your own contradictions prove otherwise…
“To me, they are The Enemy. That's why I have a radar detector and NO tickets for the past 7 years. The radar detector warns me of The Enemy.”
If your statement were true and the big bad cop is going to get you anyway even at 10 under, the radar detector wouldn’t offer much in the way of protection against that it would seem… that just contradicts your following statement and does nothing to bolster credibility for any of the post…
But your ending statement speaks more to your real thoughts…
It is obvious you prefer to break the law and depend electronics to avoid your rightful due, when a little less right foot would accomplish the protection you want and more reliably so at no expense to you, and it would be safer for the motoring public around you as a side benefit…
Sure you saw the enemy and the enemy is you…
The LEO isn’t the enemy for doing the job he was hired to do… quite the contrary… far too many believe the laws don’t apply to them and believe anyone that would try to enforce those laws on them is the enemy… but in reality it’s a way of not being able to accept responsibility for your actions, and using a radar detector to avoid the law isn’t accepting responsibility either…
But I am glad you are bright and cheerful anyway and my post isn’t meant to flame you, but anything that is posted and meant to be misleading as your post was deserves to be challenged… especially when it is designed to cast dark shadows where they don’t belong…
