Walking through campsites

Definite city folk here and perfectly fine with the description.

Should someone need to pass through my site to get to a utility pole/ water connection really doesn't bother me as long as they don't slow down and wanna have a grand ol conversation whilst we are in the middle of eating. I don't like to talk with food in my mouth cuz well that's rude.

Lil kiddos don't bother me in particular since they've probably come to play with the kiddos I bring and soon enough my kiddos will wind up on their site.

I do draw the line at a nature tour using my site as a passageway and in response to my "Excuseeee you?", the group leader, stares me in the face, turns to her group and sez "Come ladies, just walk through" .
Now THAT'S rude and even an NYCer knows it:B.

People just need to use their common sense more often than not.

I agree. Kids don't really know any better sometimes so that's not such a big deal but an adult should really know better than to invade someone else's privacy.

I'm sure some people don't really care if you cut through but lots of people do find it rude and that should take precedence.

I think that part of the problem with adults is that they are from a generation that was never taught as children.

Sounds like you had a valid reason to be walking the utility line. I wouldn't consider that trespassing- unless you stopped to rest and sat in her recliner and sipped her tea ;)

Should have contacted the campground management.... not your job to walk all over someones place looking in thier breaker box.... you could get shot.

I agree that walking thru a site and bothering folks that are trying to relax is not cool, but if there is space and it is just to cut off some steps what is the problem?

Last time I went camping, the rules didn't state that any guest could come in at any reasonable hour to inspect the site. The rules state that my site is MY site.

I don't like people cutting through my site because I have had things go missing or get damaged before. Some wonderful neighbor stole the clips to my Equalizer WDH one time because I neglected to lock them up.

We have a squirt bottle we use to spray the dogs if they start barking and it might bother the neighbors. Some kids cutting through one time took the bottle from my picnic table. I found it later that day... broken.

I bring comfortable chairs for sitting around the fire pit at night. One time someone knocked over my chair cutting through. Thankfully they didn't damage it, but it is unnecessary.

When I am sitting around my site with my friends and family, I don't want to have to deal with some dude walking his dog through my site or a gaggle of loud disorderly kids stumbling through and knocking into things or stealing them.

Bottom line, I paid for my site. The rules tell you not to cut through an occupied site. Don't cut through an occupied site. I cannot believe we are on page 7 arguing about the merits of a rule that is clearly posted at most, if not all, campgrounds that I have ever visited.

Small town, rural people are not so paranoid
over their "rights" to a tiny plot of land.

My brother has over 100 acres. He always has low life's trespassing ( it's posted no trespassing) . Some even hunting his land without permission. They park down the road and walk in, or walk in from other farmers properties, claiming they had permission ( yeah try that again buddy).

He has many times had to force people off his property, with a weapon. Some come back over and over.

Just saying, I don't buy your statement. Sounds like many of those people camp too.
