There's a lot of "taking advantage of corporate generosity" going around these days. Making a profit has been demonized by some pols and media.
Wal*Mart in particular has had it's share of bad media, some due to the mostly Chinese products they sell and some due to the perceived class of people who shop there. Now, a good customer service policy (allowing overnight parking) turned into "free camping here" and has ruined it for everyone.
LLBean recently halted it's no questions asked, lifetime replacement policy. Apparently, people were going to yard sales and town dumps, finding a pair of Bean boots and turning them in for a brand new pair. Never mind that the size they turned in wouldn't fit them. It became enough of a problem that the company needed to do something. This says to me that it wasn't just a few individuals, but a sub-culture of free loaders that probably have a website to facilitate the practice.
And don't you know that someone has filed a suit for breach of contract. It became one of those "inalienable rights".
