He was in the wrong.
it was the initial annoyed TONE of voice and not so sweet wording that got the fur up on the back of YOUR neck :)
what I would have done is just left. YUP. obviously he was ticked about something, probably NOT even you. the pup probably pooped inside the camper, the wife got on his butt about the doggie she never wanted and ---take it from there :) :)
you were obviously in the right but honestly who knows what set this guy off??
so at that point I would have walked anywhere to avoid the stupid and nasty of this man. (of course being a gal I wouldn't confront him at night by myself), you being a guy did it without hesitation and it rolled on from there.
