I retired at 60, as soon as I could.
I saw too many co-workers wait too long to retire and then have poor health where they couldn't enjoy retirement.

We enjoy overseas travel and wanted to be healthy enough to still do it, during retirement.
We have the freedom to do whatever we want and schedule our life to be as busy or relaxing as we want it to be.

As a retired firefighter, I do miss the camaraderie but not the physical abuse.
