As I was in a leadership position in my school district, many teachers came to me to ask about retirement and when to go. I always said that they would know when it was time, and I urged folks to go as soon as they could financially. I saw many wait and then get a year or two of retirement and then they were gone. I can only think of one that was feeling lost after she left. Enjoy some of that time you deserve before it's too late. There are many volunteer positions that need people if you need to get out and do something. I'm starting my third year out and have never regretted it.
