Had a leak on my Lance. Folks suggested that I turn it in to insurance to see what happened. Huge nightmare!! They sent an adjuster from about 100 miles away. He was a nice guy and I believe very fair. But the nightmare was in the phone conversations-which were all recorded by them. They asked me how I discovered the leak. I just told the truth, that when I was backing under it I scraped the side and due to the wood being rotted the trim fell off. Well when the decision was made and read back to me, the formerly nice lady I had been talking to was now making me feel like a scumbag who was trying to rip them off. Example-"According to YOUR words you ran into it. Every time she read the words YOUR it was with a pause and emphasis. I did get about $1000, to fix the $6000 damage. A couple days after, when checking for a new insurance carrier the agent told me there was a collision on the Lance(before I had agreed to a settlement or received any money). He told me some companies will put an accident on the insured vehicle even if you only inquire about if something is covered or not, and good luck getting it off. That's one reason I just 'love' insurance companies. A necessary evil. :M Gary
