Water Fill Hose size

There are 3 main sizes, 1.25, 1.5 and 1 3/8.
My tank seems to be 1 3/8
I need a new outside fill hatch and a new hose.

I do not see 1 3/8 hatches, just 1.25 and 1.5.
I can get the right size hose.

What is the solution if no matching parts (hatches)?

I found This and it fits and works very well and has a valve on it so you can control the flow rate and turn it off when needed.

be sure to use some silicone seal or other stickum as the hose will slip off the mount and slide down into your water tank/syste.

I had trouble filling the tank with a garden hose because the fitting on the end of the hose was too big to go into the gravity fill hole. The solution was a short washing machine hose with the fitting cut off - no problem getting the hose in a few inches so it doesn’t jump out.

I had one of those but it disappeared during the move.

I have the same thing I made with a quick trip through the plumbing isle at Lowe. I use it to flush the water heater also.

  • I should have asked ; will a 1 3/8 hose fit over a 1.5 fitting.
I found some to order, thanks…
  • The clue is in the size.
Gravity fill it is. A garden hose fitting is much smaller
  • are you talking gravity fill or "city water" fill. IIRC my gravity fill was not threaded and the hose just was pushed into the fitting. my city water has always been the standard hose screw on fitting. I am confused as to your situation.
