I purchased a whole house 10 inch filter at Menards along with 2 3/4 inch spur fittings, 2 water hose clamps at the local auto parts store, 2 pack of wound cotton filters and a white water hose. I think it was about 35 buck in 2008 and it works fine for us for 11 years. Then bought a new travel trailer and wanted to enhance what I was doing so I headed back to Menards and bought another 10 inch whole house filter and a 3/4 inch nipple. I now have 3 filters that I use, one in the camper that Forest River installed with a KW1 filter and 2 outside the camper with a string wound sediment filter and a multi-layer carbon wrap filter. I have about 50 dollars total in the whole setup and I get a 2 pack of the sediment filter for about 4 dollars and the carbon wrap filter is about 15 dollars. That gets me through the camping season without any issues. Again this is what I do and I am happy.
