Sulphur water can be caused by a chemical action or by bacteria.
Sanitize water system...including water heater tank - bob213ExplorerIf you have an anode rod made of magnesium it can sometimes react to the minerals in the water you are using giving off a sulfur smell. Your solution will probably work(as well as hydrogen peroxide) but if you continue with the same water supply it will more than likely return. An aluminum/zinc rod may help.
