White hoses are right for people that hook up to campground water and leave their hoses out in the hot sun all day. I am guessing they all so drink bottled water. I tried the hose in the sun way back with my first TT. I happen to like a cold glass of water or two in the afternoon. That was not happening unless all the hot water was purged out of the hose first. That put a fair amount of water in the gray tank.
So I have used my fresh water tank ever since for everything. Yes, I drink out of an old 50’ garden hose at home that lays outside all winter. In the summer it is under pressure 24/7 just laying round outside in the sun. Oh, it is used to fill the camper’s fresh water tank before a trip. It is real simple. Run water through it till it is nice and cold before drinking or filling the water tank (through a filter).
I use a correct white hose for refilling with campground water. But I run water through it till it is cold first. You would be surprised how long that can take at some campgrounds.
Think my Daddy taught me the cold water trick back in about 1947.
