Depends on how humid it is when you compress the air I think.. I've got a basic 15 gallon Craftsman compressor and even in WA state, (low humidity) it'll spit out moisture from the low point drain when I open it to release the pressure in the tank.
When the air is used in a 'hwy' tire, where it's going to warm up and increase in temp, any moisture in the tire is likely to evaporate and be a none issue.. A tire pumped up and never warmed up could have moisture build up and have the issue you had.
