You're obviously not a farm boy! Our tractors often pull things that drag, and drag hard. As-is tractor weight is too often not enough to give the tires the grip they need to pull implements. The fix is to somehow add weight to the axles. Water & other liquids in the tires works pretty good (with accepted problems at tire changing time). Axle extensions with steel weights work godd but the added width could be a problem. Most common these days is additional weights hung on tractor frame.
