Water on Awning???

My electric awning has a large black knob on each arm to lock it in the tilt position if needed. You would see them easily if yours had them.

If raining enough to pool, I take the broom and "sweep" the underside of the awning towards the front (away from the door) this done every so often, keeps the water from causing any problems.

If it rains hard then, of course, the awning comes in.

You sure it hasn't got the auto dump for when the rain starts to pool?

Most of the later Dometic electric awnings....you can get the tilt arm for free. It has to be gotten from a dealer and not Dometic itself. Got mine and took about 15 minutes to install.

Mine did not come with a tilt-able feature either.
My dealer contacted the company who made the awning and they sent me a new adjustable arm for free.
I installed my self and now she tilts just fine.

Call and ask.

I have a Solara awning on our Keystone. You can tilt either end to shed water. That being said...I HATE this awning.

The OP is talking about an electric awning, so there are no support legs. It has a retractable arm that holds the awning out.

That is why I said it is the wrong awning. WE specified NO electric awning on our new TT. It would have been a deal breaker. If we can't use it, Why have it.

Our electric awning has the thing you can screw down on one side to let the water run off on the other. As others mentioned, don't forget to loosen it back before retracting. Read your owners manual to see what it says if you have it.
