water on slide toppers

Anybody know how to remedy this? I have a few toppers but the one on my longest slide (approx. 10'??) of course holds water when it rains.

I know of 2 thing to do. 1 - let it evepaorate. 2 - pull the slide in and push it back out.

Any tricks out there?

  • I have seen some people that use a beach ball, but they have a long string that attaches to the ball, goes across the top of the topper, hangs down, and then up the other end of the topper and back to the ball in a continuous loop.

When you are leaving, you pull the ball out from under the slide from one end of the loop, and set the line on the slide roof next to the outside wall, then let the slide in. The two cords hang down and the ball and extra line tucks into a storage locker.

Once you are parked, take the ball out of the locker, inflate it, and feed it back in again with the continuous loop line.
  • We too get water on the slide topper but so what? If it's still there when we get ready to move it comes off when we close the slide
  • Ours accumulate water too, but we don't mess with it. It will evaporate eventually. Or a weighted line thrown over the top. It's never been an issue so far so we've never done anything about it. We just let nature take it's course. :) We got the toppers to eliminate work, not add extra chores. :)
  • Our slide toppers accumulate water, as well. So far we've just gone up on the roof and swept it off.

I like OG's beach ball idea. Might try that.
  • beach ball under the topper will work. but you need a way to get it in which will either call for a ladder or you getting on the roof and pushing it under the topper. the roof method is the least favorable method. you could fall off the roof.
