I did like ?Chris. my 3/4 regulator will "flow" some water.

Increasing pressure will increase flow. Increasing the orifice size by using a high flow regulator will increase flow without increasing pressure.

I have my Watts regulator set to 65 psi.
Winnebago tests the system to 85 psi and the faucets are supposed to be rated to 85 psi.

The unregulated pressure at my house is about 135 psi and the house Watts regulator is set to 65 psi as recommended by the technician that replaced the one that had died sometime before I bought the house.
When we first moved in and the hose from the house to my motor home swelled way up I figured there was a problem and a pressure check on the outside hose bib confirmed it.
The house faucets all survived the high pressure even though they are rated for 85 psi max.

Just because you increase pressure does not mean you are going to increase volume.
An adjustable regulator or Hi-flow will increase the volume and still maintain pressure at a prescribed level.

Observations about Water Pressure Regulators.

Standard one sold in RV stores, brass or plastic cylinder, male hose thread on one end, female connector on other end... LOW FLOW device, basically JUNK, though it is a good pressure regulator the passages are way too small to pass even 1 gallon per minute.

HIGH-FLO, like the above but Camco has wings, others have a bright colored grip on the female end... Slight improvement but a long way from the prize. Still junk.

Sur-Flo, I give this one about a 9 when new, but as it ages it goes down till you rebuild it, at least it can be rebuilt

Valterra Adjustable - I do not have, many of my friends recommend but a few were not happy

Watts (And Zurin) (Plumbing store units) these are adjustable and some come with a gauge, some do not,, Mine are 3/4 inch (Both Watts and Zurin) since that was less expensive than a half inch.. I do not recommend the smaller ones (Smaller than 1/2 inch) My watts when new as fantastic, it is now nine years old and in need of a rebuild (The Sur-Flo is 8 and also needs a rebuild)

The Zurin is less than a year, It is set on 50 PSI and when you open the shower valves. that needle does not even wiggle.

You can also go to Lowes and pay $41 for a Watts 3/4 inch whole house regulator. Add a few fittings and you are set.

An exterior mounted inline "regulator" is not really a regulator and is simply a flow restrictor. They only have a very small dia. hole inside them, nothing else. It will reduce pressure when there is a flow, but when there is zero flow, the pressure will equalize on both sides of it and you can end up with excessive pressure in your system.

A real regulator is a much better choice like the Watts H560 mentioned above. Even better for a few more $$ is the Watts 263A with about twice the flow rate of the H560 and is what we have. I have ours set to 60 psi.

You are better off always using a regulator. The pressure in a CG can vary a lot from night to day and can go up quite a bit during the night. I have a tell-tale gauge ahead of our regulator and the highest pressure it recorded for the season was 100 psi and I have no idea when or where. I've read some saying pressure can reach close to 200 psi. Best to use good protection 100% of the time.
