My setup has a capped fill hose for adding pink anti-freeze right next to the pump. Open that up and stick down a gallon of water and see if the pump works fine doing that. There may be a valve there also to select water tank or anti-freeze bottle. If it works this may be telling you the line to the fresh water tank is sucking air somewhere. It might even be the hose cap of the anti-freeze line was not on properly letting the pump suck some air...
Also be sure you are using the COLD WATER tap verses the HOT Water side. Your hot water tank may also need to be filled up...
You know its going to be something simple that got overlooked haha... That is what the wife always does and asks whats this for and turns it and everything magically works...
