This is what I'm worried about. I need something quick and easy and not mess around with hose fittings.

You will always need some type of fittings to attach and detach the regulator (unless you plumb it in permanently). I'd suggest you take your newly purchased regulator, in-hand, to the plumbing section of one of the big-box stores and ask for assistance.
I would opt for standard hose fittings instead of quick couplers. If one of the quick couplers breaks or is lost, you will be unable to use the regulator (without doing some additional on-site fitting plumbing).
Tip: While you're at the store, pick up a packet of rubber hose washers.
