WDH w/ sway control

I am looking a purchasing Eaz-Lift 48058 Elite Weight Distributing Hitch Kit. This comes with sway control arm. Has anyone used this or similar item by Eaz-Lift? I read the reviews online and they were mostly good but I would like to hear from someone in this forum.

My TT is 30' with a camping ready weight of 7450#. Tongue weight is 800#. Mt TV is a 2015 Chevy Silverado with 5.3L and 3.42 rear end. I am well with in all weight ratings for both TV and TT separately and together. APT, I'll look into those products you mentioned. Thanks

For that combination I strongly recommend that you up grade from the very basic hitch you are considering.

Go with: (in no particular order)
Reece Dual Cam Strait Line HP
    Blue Ox Sway Pro
    Equal-i-zer (brand).

I agree and with that length trailer dual friction sway systems are recommended and your 10.7% tongue wt for that length and wt. trailer could be problematic handling wise. A 1K tongue wt. or a tad more is what I would be shooting for as far as tongue wt. for best handling.

  • For the size of trailer you have I would recommend the Equal-i-zer. We use that on a similar sized trailer with the same truck you have. Earlier we had a smaller lighter trailer with the Ezilift system with the separate sway bar. It did not works as well as the Equal-i-zer
  • I use the EazLift with 2 friction bars and 1400# torsion bars. I'm very satisfied with it as well as the couple of other ones I've used on smaller trailers. I don't know much about the other ones, but I do like the ability to tow with no sway control if circumstances dictate that. Current trailer is 36' tongue to bumper and right at 10,000#.

Lots of people buy that model. It's a basic WDH with friction sway control. I recommend spending a little more on something with integrated sway control. Equal-i-zer 4pt, Reese Strait Line, or Blueox Swaypro. The feedback is generally better for those systems from RV owners.

Well said, I agree! I've had both Reese with sway bar and now Equal-i-zer 4 point. I prefer the Equal-i-zer much more. Much simpler to use once installed.

  • @PapaNles60, Bigger trailer, you may want to look into the ones stated above. Especially if you tow long distances.

  • How big of a trailer? What are you towing with? Right now, with my Reese Dual Cam Strightline, I am probably overkill with my little trailer, but I got it when I was towing with a MUCH smaller Tow Vehicle.
