Set the hitch ball height so the trailer is towing level. Then try towing it without the spring bars on and see how it acts.
I've towed with some pretty heavy tongue weights with my flatbed trailers on both my F350's and not felt the need to hook up the weight distributing hitch. I really doubt there will ever be a need to use a weight distributing hitch with my International.
