EDIT: Just looked at my Avalanche manual. It says to drive 2 miles with the air suspension on before adjusting a WDH.
That's the same as 2014 Expedition. Ford says those two miles, need to be at 20 - 25 MPH.
How mamy people, do you suppose, are actually doing their two miles ?
It's not 2 miles every time you tow, only when you are "adjusting it". I would think that once you have the hitch dialed in, you pull up the spring bars to the same level every time. Most folks get into a camping "routine" of what gets packed where in both truck and trailer, so loading stays pretty consistent.
I would think that you follow the vehicle manual when initially setting up the hitch, and then assuming contact loading you return the WD to the same setting every time. I wouldn't think it would matter whether the air suspension came on before or after hitching once the correct settings are established.
