We cross the border almost weekly as we live close to the border. My wife got a different car and last week we took it across and the American customs guy asked why we had this car. I told him we just bought it and he said ok it is now in the system. Most likely the licence number is what they record. They know what's going on!
They know who you are before you pull into the gate. that's what all those cameras are for.
they run your tags and know pretty much every thing about you before they say Good Morning.
