I have a old Realistic Crystal controlled desktop that has a extendable antenna and folds up to shirt pocket size. Press the button and it throws you the NOAA broadcast for that area.
Looks for something similar and I don't see anything at radio shack (where I bought mine). Works wonderfully everywhere I have ever taken it. Battery lasts forever.
Make sure whatever you get, it has an extendable antenna. A couple of friends have one with "built in" antenna's and they are hit or miss on getting anything when the weather gets bad and they need to know.
