I use the Reecom R-1650. It is what many of the local emergency services use to re-broadcast the weather reports and other emergencies. Uses the SAME system.
http://www.reecominc.com/r1650.htm. You can also get it without the AM/FM broadcast band. You can also pick and choose the type of alerts you want to hear. And you can set it up to hear 1 county and up to 26 counties, or receive all counties. 4 AA battery backup for up to 185 hours.
