Maybe living in Anacortes is why we gave up the RV?
I identify with you on that one .... except where we live is 1800 feet up in the North-Central CA mountains, and also close to ocean beaches if we want to go see the sea. Some folks drive their RV's many miles to get to camping spots like where our stick and bricks house already is ... so we rarely go anywhere with our RV over any Holidays so as to avoid crowds.
However almost any situation can be relative, so we keep an RV in order to travel, camp, and take a break from the constant trees and green mountain vistas we live daily around. We enjoy camping in desert areas to see the uncluttered, broad, sweeping, and treeless views ... and for the DW to collect rocks that I have to then figure out how to lift up into the RV's storage cabinet. ;)
