Weather Station

My wife LOVED her wireless rain gauge. The "bucket" was on the patio and the readout was in the kitchen.

Then it died.....

We recently bought a 5 sensor (wind speed & direction, rainfall, temperature, humidity) weather station.

Now the sensors are on a 10 foot pole on top of the 8 foot fence and the wireless readout is in the living room.

She LOVES it!

Now we're thinking about one for the RV. Does anybody have one in/for their RV?

We have the same one in our Roadtrek and it works great also. We put the remote sensor in under the Continental spare tire kit (behind the cover) It works good there, we've only had to change the batteries once, in 4 years.
  • La Crosse makes a lot of different versions. Have one for the trailer that does everything but rainfall and wind speed. Just looked at their website and saw this one on sale:

  • love having a weather station but no need for a rain gauge or anemometer. I like having several temp sensors for inside, outside and storage.

Have had one similar to this

  • We love ours too. It has a picture of a man who wears hats, mittens, coat for cold weather and sunglasses, shorts for warm weather so it's pretty entertaining. We tried to get the same thing for the RV but not available so we had to settle for just temps, pressure. Works fine, however.

  • I have the same but a few years old. My only real complaint was that the aspirator fan did not move enough air when the unit was in direct sun. They replaced the solar panel assembly to no avail. I bought the dual solar panel unit but the temp still read high.

I bought another sensor that just does temp and humidity, unfortunately I cannot get it to show on the display. I now have my internet bridge passing the signals to my home automation computer, on which I have a program running that will do the "Rapid-Fire" uploads to the WeatherUnderground. I can then view it on any of my devices or from my laptop. My station has been on the WeatherUnderground maps for a number of years now.
  • We have one installed at our upstate NY cottage along with a couple of inside temp/humidity sensors. We use an AcuLink connected to the Internet to monitor the outside and inside conditions via an app on our smartphones while traveling.
