On another similar thread a gentleman (not me) commented that he believed any trailer more than a utility trailer should have a WD hitch. Yes this may be a bit of a stretch but it's not to far off. If you have a 2500/3500 truck, regardless of brand and are pulling any sort of trailer (meaning 19ft. or more) you will pull better and safer with a WD hitch. It's not all about "this weight or that weight", "this rating or that rating" Or whether it pushes the truck down more than 2". Without a WD hitch, it's about the fact that when the bumps get hit on the road and the trailer pushes down on the rear axle and it lightens the front axle. Any tow rig that actually tows something will benefit from a properly set up WD hith. Having said all that, if the only thing you tow is the 19 ft. trailer once a year 30-50 miles up to dear camp with a 2500/3500 truck, then I may not invest in one.....if that's all you do. But if I had one I would use it even for that. Base on the trailer you stated you are planning to tow, I would only recommend a WD hitch and wouldn't even consider not using one.
