Well, I think I know what our towing problem is!

Our truck! I haven't driven it since December, probably. DH just had new E-tires put on in February and we took our TT on the road trip from HELL in early March. I posted here earlier about that exp...

Are you putting all 4 on? I found the hard way that only replacing the rears with 10ply while still having 6ply on the front caused a similar experience.

Once I switched the fronts to 10 ply, too, it went back to rock solid handling.
