Bought Michelins for my 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 a couple of years ago...IIRC they were LTX, but not sure. Anyways, first trip out with the new truck tires was a white knuckle trip for 5 hours!! When I first got on the highway and up to speed, my wife was looking at me like what the heck is the matter! I kept those tires for a couple of more short trips and multiple adjustments to my Equalizer hitch. I finally called Tire Rack and explained the situation and they graciously took them back after I had already put about 2-3,000 miles on them. I ended up going back to the original Goodrich tires that came stock on the truck. Problem solved after I readjusted the hitch back to the original setup.
I had a similar problem with the exact same tires a few years back too, I had been using the exact same tire for many years, as I only get 20,000km from them due to the conditions I drove in they had been replaced many times with never any problems. These tires were not the same in any way shape or form and Costco took them back for a full refund. It was not inflation pressure, not alignment, not anything other than the tires themselves.
I must agree with AH64id the pressure on the tire wall is the MAX COLD inflation pressure never to be exceeded, not necessarily what you would inflate a truck tire to.
