50% is a safe value on an empty truck, not real tire smart are you??
In no way shape or form would that be under inflated.
{snip}
Only in your imagination is 50% inflation okay for tires under load. Period.
I suppose you expect every load center (sand, gravel, coal, wood, lumber, blocks, etc) to have a customer air station so they can pull in with 50% inflated tires, load up, then stop and add air to their tires? Get real.
Look. We aren't debating 'Ford vs Chevy' or who has the best football team. Proper and SAFE tire inflation is potentially Life and Death stuff- literally. Telling people they should be running their tires at 50% inflation can really get people hurt- or worse! :E
My imagination. Are you completely ignoring the data I gave you from Dodge and Toyo? You really don't need to answer that, your posts prove you have no desire to learn the facts. You can look around and find similar data from other vehicle and tire manufacturers, because it's how pressure is properly determined.
I never said run 50% under load, I gave SPECIFIC weights and pressures, ALL based on approved pressures for loads. I also stated that while towing pressures would have to be increased.
Not to mention if a tire calls for 40 psi based on the load being carried and it's at 40 psi it's 100% inflated, even if the tire can hold 80 psi. Putting 80 psi in a tire when it needs 40 to do it's job is 200% inflated. 50% inflation would be 20 psi, who said run that??
The goal is to get their tires to break in sooner than later, PROPER pressure will do that far sooner than the over inflated numbers you gave.
Overinflated is NEVER recommended, except by you.
That's how tires work, really not difficult.
Yes many people run their tires over inflated because they don't want to change pressures, I am guessing you are one. But aside from changing pressure more often there isn't a benefit to it, not in tread life, not in stability, safety, or handling.
This shouldn't become personal, but you keep telling me I am using my imagination and making things up despite the facts. It's going to be pretty simple from here, own up to a mistake, but your big boy pants on and move on.
