Mike, You will LOVE Thousand Islands area! We did it twice a few years ago. Visit Hardt Castle and Singer Castle by boat. Gananoque is a beautiful little town. Also did Montreal and Ottawa last year! Both outstanding visits! Stayed at a Regional Park near Ottawa, huge private sites and not expensive. Stayed at a KOA near Montreal. Typical KOA but out in the country about 12 miles from the city and very clean! Plus the exchange rate will pay you back a lot! ENJOY!

We plan on taking our kayaks on this trip. I'm have a tough time researching where or how popular kayaking is at 1000 island NP. Do you have any info or observations?
