Essays of EB White. Yes, he did write Charlotte's Web. But he also wrote essays for The Saturday Evening Post back in the day. Very funny & provides verbal snapshots of 1940s Manhattan & Maine.
Oh I think I would like that. Of course as a retired elementary teacher I have read Charlotte's Web a few times and I knew White also wrote other things but never knew anything about what he wrote. Last year I got hooked on Calvin Trillan's books. They are all about food, places he has traveled to, mostly for the food, but a lot of his books are about living and working in NYC. And of course the food in NYC. While reading them I felt like I was right there in Manhattan with him. I believe he writes or wrote for The NewYorker magazine for over 40 years. I remember seeing him on Johnny Carson. His books are so interesting and funny. And the description of the food are so vivid.
