mid January. going to Georgia. first time Snow Bird.camper is already there.Wife's job ends Jan 03... company moving to Mexico.

Heading to Waycross, GA. to visit young'uns. Can't wait to see 4 yr old grand daughter open presents!

New Year's Eve is the time to be at home and off the streets before dark. Too many amateur drunks on the road. When I was a bartender, I always volunteered to work. Safer to be on that side of the bar, and by the time I got to go home, all the drunks were off the road. Home, ditch or jail. For Christmas, I'll try to hide, but it usually doesn't work. I'm lifetime single, and no living relatives. One of the Moms I know will insist, and I hate intruding on a family holiday. This week, I'll buy myself a nice present and have it gift wrapped. At my age, three weeks from now I can open it and be surprised.

Parked in daughter's driveway in Florida. 84 degrees!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!

We'll be at my niece's house Christmas Eve, at home Christmas Day then going to my daughter's house after that for a few days--unless we have another blizzard then we'll be staying home. The weather is just too rough to want to travel and we'd really rather be with family over the holidays than anywhere else. We'll bug out next summer for an extended trip.

Last night it got down to 18 below, after a high of 6 below. We awoke to the sound of the wind howling across the frozen lake. Both DH and I are wishing there was more blowing snow so we could just stay home, light the fireplace, and play games with the kids, maybe watch a movie. But we are leaving soon to spend Christmas with the relatives. :R

LOL Dave, read your post to Mama. She was wondering if maybe you have hit that gutter before? It does sound that way! LOL

If this old pfart makes it to midnight, I plan on doing the traditional thing for me. rack one round in the chamber of the Model 12 Winchester, step out on the front porch, point it skyward, insuring I am clear of the gutter and let her rip. :B

XMAS. In DFW area. 2nd day after headed to the RGV.. SPI. KOA.
For three months. Unusually cold here inDFW. But nothing like the upper middle America.

Well, since we got hammered with the ice storm, and lost power in the wee hours of Sunday, it appears that I'll be tending generators here and at my moms at least until Thursday, 12/26. I just hope the forecasted snow and winds don't compound the situation too badly!

Will be volunteering here at Cape Lookout, Tillamook, Oregon where the weather man says it will be 50 degrees and sunny on Christmas, and the following two days. Yeah !

Christmas Eve will be foggy so probably snuggle down and stay warm with hubby.

Then be at Fort Yamhill for New Year Eve to check in to volunteer for a couple of months.

So far have not been in a routine for Christmas day nor New Year's Day .. always remember being in Fort Worth and New Orleans for Christmas in years past .. good memories.

We are going to my niece's house Christmas Day but having Christmas Eve supper at our house. The day after Christmas we'll be at my daughter's house then we'll scoot home to be here over New Year's.

For Christmas we're at Lakewood park in Harlingen Tx. New Years - don't know yet.

I'm staying home alone. But, I like it that way. I already had Christmas dinner with 2 families and as for New Years, it's not safe to go places with all the police out and about and it's too cold for me to take my camper to friends backyards, or the park, and sleep in it. So, I'll have a nice peaceful / quiet time and enjoy it!
