When walking my dog, I always carry a poop bag or two prominently in my hands. If my dog stops to sniff at anything, I make a production of getting the bag open and ready so that any people watching can see my intent to scoop my dog's poop. I do not allow my dog to wander more than two feet into a site so she doesn't get too close to a camper. If she poops, I make a production out of scooping it up and tying it off.
Seriously. But all that is only when I see people giving me the evil eye for daring to walk my dog near them. You can tell with some people as you near their site, that they will have a hissy fit if your dog even comes near. They come out onto to their driveways and stand guard (I swear they sit in a window all day just waiting for dog owners to come by) in anticipation of being able to yell at someone, anyone, for anything. They are the same ones that scream at kids for riding their bikes past the site.
