What did I just find in my rig?

Snap traps. Checked, emptied, and reset often.

Definitely mice work! We found the same thing under our sofa at home after being gone all winter. We caught the little buggers with traps, and now leave a few around when we leave. A neighbor comes over to check them.

Never made sense to me why people set traps or other attractants INSIDE your RV. You want them AWAY from your RV. I use "mouse blocks" outside, 3 or 4 strategically placed usually near the tires and hitch and/or directly below areas they could scamper up and inside your rv normally. . These are little black plastic boxes with a green block inside of them and a very small hole only a rodent can get into. they nibble on the block, which dehydrates them, and they leave to look for water and die outside instead. Works for me on the nasty critters.

If you are not going to be there for two weeks, rats in traps are going to be just as smelly, although easier to get at.

Plan the rodent killing for a time when you can be there, and use traps. Do not trap the doggie's paw ;).

Agreed, traps are probably going to be the first try but I'm not putting one in my oven either :).

Traps are the only way to go. I used poison with my first trailer and it took the whole summer to get rid of the smell of rotting mouse in the furnace.

That is the insulation from the back of the stove. it happened to me in my house several years ago. Peanut butter and a trap and he was caught the next night.

Peppermint oil and bounce sheets are supposed to be the best deterent for rodents.

Set a Qt jar in a top draw, place a bit of peanut butter in a spoon balance it on the edge of the counter above the jar. mouse goes after the peanut butter and falls into the jar.

I turned the oven on for an hour earlier, figured it any were in there it would run them out :). Although you have a point, I am going to have to wait at least a week and most likely two before I come back to check the traps and am apprehensive to trap a rodent in a closed oven with that time frame.

Break out the Irish Spring and the dryer sheets! :B
